Color Run!

I've been hearing about these crazy things called color runs for a few months. They sounded fabulous: only 5K (that's reasonable) and you get covered in a brightly-colored dirty mess and there is lots of music.  So our family jumped at the chance to do the first color run that came to town!!!
We got up early in the morning and adorned our Color Run gear. The only requirement to participate is that you wear mostly white!
We joined probably 10,000 of our fellow Color Runners and took off for our trip around town.

If you can't tell, we had the best time! And even better news: Color Me Rad is coming to town next month! We will be there for sure!!

The Story of Micah

This is the story of Micah.  My sweet little Micah.  We arrived at the hospital at 6 am. The nurses were all so kind while they got everything set up. I was surpassed at how ready and calm I was at the time. My mom joined us soon there after to keep up with Jeremy while Joey was with me in the operating room.
Walking through the operating room doors I started to get a little panicked. It was just me and a nurse because Joey was getting scrubbed and in his yellow gown so he could join me once they began. The nurses and the anesthesiologist were all so gentle and reassuring, but I couldn't stop shaking and was beginning to have a panic attack. The anesthesiologist was great and kept me as calm as I was ever going to be under the circumstances.
The first words I heard of my baby boy were "Whoa, he has a lot of hair and he is going to be a BIG boy!" In my confused state I was sure I was in a room with other people who were also having cesarians. I know I was not about to have a baby with a ton of hair!

But here he is. Micah Daniel. Born October 22nd 2012 at 9:25am.
Weighing 8 lbs 1 oz, and 20 inches long
10 fingers and 10 toes and perfectly healthy in every way!

This was the first picture I took of Micah when I got to hold him for the first time!

Joey and I are both so excited to be parents of two boys! Jeremy is already in love with his baby brother and loves spending every moment he can with him.

We were all so grateful for all the visitors we had while we were in the hospital.

We were allowed to go home on Wednesday morning. With Jeremy I was scared of taking this small little person home and not having all the nurses there to help me. But this time I was so ready to get out of there and be at home with our new little one.

A few of our first photos at home!

A Shower for Baby Micah

My good friend Tara threw me a baby shower for little Micah this weekend. It was so cute and Tara made the most amazing cupcakes that I have ever eaten! Homemade cream cheese icing: need I say more! I think I ate 3... and I really wanted to eat more!
Add caption
All of my favorite people were there! Linda the mother-in-law, Cassi, and Rachael the baby sister.
Amie, and some friends from work: Nicol and Lisa, my mom and me.
Hey, Look! I'm in a photo and I'm pregnant. That doesn't happen to often!
Amanda and Sara the middle sister.
Evelyn, Andrea and Laura. (Andrea is due in late December and Laura is due in November.)

A few other people were hiding from the camera: Lynn, Melissa, Rebekah, Sheri, Celeste, and Tara.
Here's Noodle (Tara's #1) and Kelsie, my niece who even wore her beautiful party clothes that I got for her!
And one more time... did I mention the cupcakes were AMAZING??? I'm gonna have dreams about those cupcakes!

Introducing Micah!

It has been quite a while since I posted anything about my new sweet boy. Why? Well... because I like pictures and my scanner/printer has been out of ink. Who knew it wouldn't SCAN if it was out of ink?!?

So, back in June (19.5 weeks) we went in to find out if our little one was a boy or a girl... and its a BOY! Yeah! It took us about a week of going back and forth on different names that begin with J to realize that wasn't going to work. So... we came up with Micah Daniel! The criteria for baby names were that we wanted something biblical, something that there probably wouldn't be 12 other kids in his class with the same name, and something really cute! Also, Daniel is my maiden name so that was easy! We are so excited and so in love!
For those who are sonogram challenged his head on the left looking at you, booty down and to the right.  The round things are hands above his face.
These two photos were from earlier this month (32ish weeks). You can see his face really well. Although I wish I had a video because seeing him on the screen was so much better! So, what does Jeremy have to say about all this? He is so excited. He tells us how he is going to play with him, but probably won't be sharing his toys (I mean, lets keeps our expectations real!) Jeremy loves to feel him kick and can't wait to meet his little brother!
This time still facing you but the top of his head is on the right. And Micah's hand is on his face.
Better profile picture.
Since I know you really want to see a maternity shot... here you go. I really don't like profile pictures, so I'll give you the angle that I see...
Me and Micah!
As of today, we have 31 days on our count down! So far everything has gone amazing and I've been so excited to not be on bed rest, and other than some hip and joint pain I've been good to go! So we are praying for an easy 31 days!

Oh Baby!

We had another doctor appointment today got another set of ultrasounds. We were offered this appointment with the Internal Medicine doctors. They were checking for "genetic anomalies." It was against my better judgment that we even went to the appointment. I felt certain that they were going to try to scare me into worrying that there was something wrong with my sweet baby. Well, they didn't... so that was good. And we got to see some amazing pictures of our sweet baby! The nurse doing the ultrasound wasn't in the best mood, so we got to see some really clear images at the beginning. We saw little hands,  all the finger bones, a little thumb sucking action, a sweet profile, little feet, and little movements. However, the nurse got three kinda fuzzy images that don't even come close to what we were able to see! But, here they are...
This is when the baby turned on his/her back and you are looking at the back of his/her head and booty.

Only 25 more weeks until we meet our new sweet baby!!
