Thanksgiving Feast

I was sad that this was my Jeremy's first year missing the Thanksgiving Feast at Celebration, so I let him take the afternoon off join us! I know, I know... it was silly, but I miss my little man at school with me.

Upward Basketball: Game 2

Here are a few short clips of Jeremy making baskets. Jeremy scored 6 of his teams 7 goals. He was so stinkin proud of himself! We were pretty impressed too!

Painted Pony Fieldtrip

There is one place in town that I have been wanting to take Jeremy to for quite a while but have never had the opportunity and that is the Painted Pony. I was so happy when I found out Jeremy's class was having their end of the year field trip here. I took the day off of work to spend the day with my boy and it was so much fun!We started by heading to the barn to learn a little about farm animals and we even got to feed a few.The goats made Jeremy really nervous!We fed Calvin the cow... and Calvin the boy got to feed Calvin the cow too. Ha ha!Jeremy really liked Daryl the Donkey. I think that was Jeremy's favorite animal. I guess Daryl wasn't quite as intimidating as some of the other animals.Next stop was to paint the pony, Charlie. Well, I guess Charlie isn't really a pony, but it sounds better than paint the really big horse. I don't remember what kind of horse this is, but I think he's half-Clydesdale.Jeremy and Katie were the first two. And, yes, I am standing on a step stool taking pictures from OVER the horse. Mrs. Daleen and Mrs. Kristen got in on the painting action too. I think Mrs. Kristen wanted to paint Daleen more than she wanted to paint the pony!And here is the end result. By the way, Charlie loves to take baths!Last we took a short hayride around the farm.

Kindergarten Graduation

I can't believe we are already at the end of the year and we are graduating KINDERGARTEN! This is happening way too quickly!! So here are a few pictures of the ceremony...They have a slide show of all the kids in the school with their baby pictures and graduation photo. I had to find the most embarrassing photo I could find for the baby picture. :)Jeremy and Mrs. Daleen. She has been the best teacher and I wish she could teach Jeremy every year from now on!Jeremy and his good buddy Juddson playing swords with their diplomas. Parent Appreciation Day

At school, we had Parent Appreciation Day for all the mommys and daddys. I was really glad that Joey got to come along. And I got a great picture of the two of them. The theme for the day was "prespective" and looking at things through the eyes of God. So, they handed out glasses for all the kids. It was very cute!

A bunch of chicks

In Jeremy's class, they have have been learning about different kinds of animals. April is deovoted to animals that are oviparous. If oviparous doesn't mean anything to you, you can ask him all about it and even how to spell it! Anyway, they started out with 18 eggs before spring break and kept them in an incubator. Twenty-one days later they had 5 baby chicks! The black one is Dark Vader, the one in the back with the stripe on his back is Racer, right under Racer is Princess Leah, one of the white ones is Cutie Pie, and Jeremy said he had no idea who the other one was. No suprise that he wanted to name them all Monster and Skillet. They have had fun watching them grow and will get to keep them for at least a couple of weeks.Who you lookin at?

Jeremy: the Science Guy

Everyone in Jeremy's class has an opportunity to do a science project. Joey had some big ideas about what kind of project to do, but we finally settled on balloon races. Jeremy was thrilled to do something fun, and even more excited that his daddy got to come help him in class!

Snow Day

Its that time of year again, folks! SNOW DAY! While everyone else in the country has had tons of snow this year... even central Florida received flurries... we remain snowless. Luckily, for the kids at our school, we got to experience the thrill of snow

2010: A Space Odyssey

Well, I guess you can call it an Odyssey. Jeremy's class has been learning all about space, planets and stars this month. Then, at the end of the month they went on a field trip to the Challenger Space Center to see a movie about a cardboard rocket ship. It was really awesome... especially for the kids! (I spent a good part of time trying not to look at the screen so I wouldn't feel seasick.)After the Space Center, we went to the park for lunch and some play time.

Chef for the Day

At Jeremy's school, each child has a chance to be Student of the Week. Most of the kids are student of th week on their birthday, but Jeremy has a summer birthday so his was around his half birthday. One of the favorite perks of being the Student of the Week is on Thursday's they have a Chef of the Day. Jeremy picked out his simple recipe that he wanted to make for his class: Bucket o' Dirt. It was a lot of fun to do, and Jeremy was so proud to make something by himself (ok... mostly by himself) for his class!
Here is the recipe:
2 boxes of chocolate pudding
4 cups of milk
1 bag of Oreos
a bag of gummy worms
large bucket, shovel, wisk, and a gallon ziplock bag

Mix the pudding and milk in the bucket. Crush the Oreos in a ziplock bag with the back of the shovel. Dump some gummy worms on top.

Christmas Craft Day

Jeremy's class at school had a craft day and I thought they were all very cute and very simple to do, so I wanted to share them with you!First was a Christmas Tree made made out of a sugar cone and covered with green colored icing and different little candies.Next was a pine cone bird feeder. The bird seed and peanut butter were already mixed together which made it way easier to spread. And this one makes a great quick bible lesson too...

Matthew 6:26Then we made candy canes out of pipe cleaners and beads.Ok, this one was my favorite and I promise to treasure it for years. One of the mom's has one of those cricket scrap booking things. So, you can use it to etch in glass. So each ornament has the kids name in it and the year on the back. Then we filled them with sparkly ribbon and fake-snow-glittery-stuff.And last but not least, is it possible to have a craft day without foam cutouts?
