2010 Road Trip: Bryce Canyon, UT

We made a last minute decision to stop by Bryce Canyon on the way to Moab, UT. The motor home really won't fit through one of the tunnels, so Joey, Jeremy and I all jumped in the car and spent a couple hours in the park.
Bryce Canyon is a really cool park because it looks like a really huge drippy sandcastle. Tara taught me about drippy castles many years ago at St. George. When you hold a handful of really wet sand in your hands and let it drip out to make little stacks on top of each other. The result looks, well, something a little like the pictures below. Also, right before we got into the park we found a cool little gift shop that sells Utah type stuff. Jeremy had been begging for an Indiana Jones hat for weeks for his trip to the "desert" and we finally found one that was a little more reasonably priced.
It was really windy at the top of the mountain in the park. I caught Jeremy playing the lead in Titanic although I'm certain he has never seen the movie. Ha ha!
I've fallen in love with the yucca which is a close relative of the Joshua Trees and Spanish Bayonets.
And, here are some of the animals Jeremy wants posted.
My favorite are the prairie dogs. I'm sure people out west think I am nuts taking pictures of these little guys, I mean have you ever seen someone running around Florida chasing a grey squirrel with a camera? Yeah, not so much. But this was too cute. They were so involved with their "barking" that they didn't notice that I walked up just ten or so feet behind them.
