Cross Country Roadtrip: Badlands National Park, SD

Hi everyone. We are still traveling... with a few hundred miles left on our trip. Today's adventure was the Badlands National Park. So far, this has been my favorite part of the trip. It was beautiful to see the scenery change from corn... just corn... to rolling hills of grass. We stopped at a rest area that had these tee pees set up in a field. Jeremy thought they were amazing. This is what the Badlands are all about. These amazing rock formations. I've never been to the painted desert, but I'm guessing this looks kind of similar. Can I just tell you how much this Florida girl is in love with the tall grasses out here! Jeremy loves becoming a junior ranger at all the National parks. He is very serious about "leave nothing but footprints" so he was telling me we couldn't pick the flowers. On the other side of those mountain-y things there was this canyon-like thing that stretched for miles. And just for all you folks who tell me that I am never in any pictures.... HERE I AM!
Ok, we didn't pick the flowers but we had to blow the huge dandilions.
Rachael, this video is just for you. In the field by the tee pees there were several prarie dogs. Sorry the video is really shakey, but its hard to film something so small and far away with a 300mm lens.
