Mining for Gems and Anna Ruby Falls

Day two of our trip we had a fun day of playing around Helen. Our first stop was the Old Sautee Store outside of Helen. I thought it was so cool to see this Corvette parked outside. Something old, and something new.By request of Ya-Ya we went mining for gemstones. Jeremy was very excited to sift the gems out even though really it is just a bag of sand with some rocks in it. The next adventure for the day was Anna Ruby Falls. Its a short half mile hike up to water falls. We learned that it is very rare to have two rivers come together at twin waterfalls. Jeremy, of course, had the best time being "manly men" with Eric. After our hike we went to the creek and tried to teach Jeremy how to skip rocks. He didn't ever catch on, but still had an awesome time just playing in the cool mountain water.
