Tennessee Trip, part 1

So, we took a little family trip with Nanny and Papa to Tennessee. We still have Penelope, Jeremy's class mascot, who is getting to go on a huge adventure to the Smoky Mountains. Pleo kept Jeremy company for the long car trip to Pigeon Forge.
We took some really beautiful back roads on the way to our cabin.
Nanny and Papa took us to the Dixie Stampede. Jeremy was a little leery at first, but loved all the music and horses. The next morning we got up and went to the Great Smoky Mountains. Beautiful doesn't begin to describe it! The rangers said there was about 3 feet of snow covering the top of the mountains. Jeremy had his first snowball fight with his daddy on the side of the road.We found a wall of ice and icicles. It was beautiful, but crazy cold. We, of course, were typical Floridians and were not prepared for the weather at all! Jeremy was the only one who had gloves, no hats, and I was in traction-free shoes. The weather was in the mid 40s in town, but up the mountain it was in the 20s with a windchill in the teens. The rangers said they had already received 3 feet of snow at the top of the mountain. This was just a mound of snow they had moved off the road. After being out of the car for less than five minutes, he was crying hysterically and begging to go home. As soon as he was in the car, he passed out and went to sleep. He is truly my little Florida boy!So, here are way too many pictures... just scenery, no people. There is something about snow and black and white photography that makes me happy. I'm no Ansel, but here you go...
