Camping at Manatee Springs

I went on a fun girls only camping weekend this past weekend for Tara's birthday. I haven't been camping in forever, so it was a lot of fun. We went to Homasasa Spring the second day.This is Lou the Hippo. He lives at Manatee and has an interesting story that we heard several times while we were there.My favorite part was watching this cute, old guy feed the manatees. Next stop on our whirlwind tour of the gulf coast was Cedar Key complete with a pier and fun shopping.We were starving when we got back. Tara made us delicious vegetarian camping chili. It was fun watching seven women try to get into some cans of food without a functioning can opener.
